Gossip Girl's Newest Star Breaks Her Spin-Off Silence!

You may not know her name -- it's Krysten Ritter! -- but if you've watched "Veronica Mars," "27 Dresses " or "Gilmore Girls," there is an excellent chance you're familiar with her face.

Now the uninitiated are about to get schooled in the ABC's of Krysten since she snagged the highly coveted lead role in The CW's potential "Gossip Girl" spin-off. It focuses on a younger Lily van der Woodsen and her older -- as yet unseen sister -- Carol.

But TV isn't the only medium Krysten is keen on conquering. She stars as Isla Fisher's best friend in "Confessions of a Shopaholic." But try as she might, there was no ditching that dress, so don't ask.

I rang up the soon-to-be familiar face and chatted about her new BFF, what fibs she's told potential employers and, of course, what we can expect from "Gossip Girl" 2.0!

Krysten Alyce Ritter is an American actress and former model.

She appeared in the films What Happens in Vegas (2008), 27 Dresses (2008) and Confessions of a Shopaholic (2009), and has had recurring roles in the television series Gilmore Girls, and Veronica Mars. She has been cast as a lead in Valley Girls, a spin-off series of The CW's Gossip Girl. She will also appear in the romantic comedy She's Out of My League, and is featured in the AMC television drama series Breaking Bad.
